Summer is HERE and it is time to keep those kiddos occupied! For most of my friends, finding ways to keep their kids and grandkids busy is a full-time job, so I decided it would be fun to put together a list of the top 10 things to do in Manhattan, KS for kids!

Splash Parks in Blue Earth Plaza and Manhattan City Park! At Blue Earth Plaza kiddos can enjoy water features with music-synchronized laminar jets in addition to the water options, the covered picnic tables are perfect to enjoy lunch or even dinner! In Manhattan City Park the splash park is near the Johnny Kaw statue! This large splash park is also right next to a large playground to keep the kiddos moving all day long!
Sunset Zoo in Manhattan, KS is one of my favorite places to visit. The Sunset Zoo is constantly working to improve the facilities and the visitor experience while at the zoo. The newest addition is Expedition Asia and it is phenomenal! Sunset Zoo offers various events throughout the year for kids of all ages!
Reptile World specializes in reptiles and amphibians and is open seven days a week in Manhattan, KS! Both kids and adults can enjoy and learn more about the animals at Reptile World. For the brave, there might even be some up close and personal encounters!
A & H Farms is located South of town on over 10 acres. Open seven days a week in the summer, you can enjoy tons of family fun for all ages at A & H Farms! In addition to the day-to-day options, make sure to follow A & H Farms on Facebook to keep up with special events like their Fall events, Baby Animal Days, Easter Egg Hunts, Strawberry Festival and so much more! In addition to their Easter Egg Hunt for kids, there is also one for adults, like I said, the WHOLE family! Lol
Flint Hills Discovery Center offers educational options for children to learn about the importance of the prairie on our ecosystem and frequently uses special events to bring amazing exhibits to the community of Manhattan, KS!
K-State Insect Zoo is open for visitors from Tuesday through Saturday, 1 pm-6 pm. Located in the Kansas State University Gardens on College Ave., the K-State Insect Zoo has creepy crawlers for you to observe. Many guests think this is one of the best-kept secrets in Manhattan, KS. Wonder Workshop offers educational opportunities for children using technology and STEM while fostering a better understanding of the variety of cultures building a stronger community! Midwest Dream Car Museum was opened in 2019 by Ward and Brenda Morgan. The collection of vehicles that visitors can view ranges in age from 1907 to the present. Some of the cars are from Morgan's private collection while others are on loan! The cars range from muscle cars to electric, classic and exotic cars. Some of my favorites have been the Sonny and Cher convertible and then a Model T because there is always something about a classic!
LEAP indoor trampoline park is the perfect space for kids to burn off their energy even when the weather isn't the best. In addition to the trampoline park, LEAP also offers birthday parties, an Arcade, and Bowling! LEAP also offers a food court with an excellent variety of food and drinks, they even have a bar area for the adults!
