The Yellow Brick Road

The entrance to the Yellow Brick Road is marked by one of my favorite Toto statues on display throughout Wamego, KS. The Emerald Toto always reminds me of the Emerald City.

Whenever I find myself in Wamego I always seem to drive by the entrance to the Yellow Brick Road, and every time it brings a smile to my face. I love how the community of Wamego has embraced the movie, Wizard of Oz! The entrance to the Yellow Brick Road is marked by one of my favorite Toto statues. The Emerald Toto greets visitors and always reminds me of the Emerald City.

The entrance to the Yellow Brick Road is right off of Lincoln Ave., the main street in Wamego, KS. Visitors can park on Lincoln Ave. and enjoy the short walk on the Yellow Brick Road to the Friendship House, another Wamego, KS staple! Passing the Friendship House the Yellow Brick Road ends and you are right across the street from Wamego City Park.

While the community is constantly making updates to the Yellow Brick Road, most recently, they have added Murals for visitors to enjoy! There will be seven murals on "the road" that each depict a different aspect of The Wizard of Oz. The original sketches of the murals will eventually be turned into a coloring book!

Visitors can enjoy a day in Wamego with a stop at the Yellowbrick Road, then head over to the OZ Museum and Toto's Tacozs and finish off your day sampling some of the fabulous wines at Oz Winery!
