Located in downtown Manhattan, KS, Tallgrass Taphouse has a great mix of menu items and 10 beers brewing in-house at any time. Tallgrass was started as a local brewery many years ago. After an expansion and several successful pairing menus, Tallgrass Taphouse was born. The Tap House opened in Downtown Manhattan, KS, and has an amazing rooftop seating area!
There are several levels at the Taphouse, the main level with the fermenting tanks, the mezzanine that is one flight up, and then the rooftop. When the weather is nice you can enjoy sitting on the rooftop patio while enjoying food or drinks. The sweeping views of downtown and back to the Flint Hills and Discovery Center allow you to truly take in the area.
The fermenting tanks at Tallgrass Taphouse add to the ambiance while you are dining. The brewery has a great variety of beers brewing daily on-site.
If you are needing a space for a office party, larger group dinner or gathering, the mezzanine level offers a level for that! We have used it for our office Christmas Party and it worked perfectly! We had almost 40 people, the staff did amazing!
The menu has a variety of classic bar food but with a twist. Our favorite appetizers are the Korean Wings and the Soft Pretzels. Unfortunately, we were so hungry we ate them before I thought to snap a picture!
The Korean wings have just the right about of sweet and heat, while the soft pretzels with bar cheese and honey mustard are my favorites! Both dips come with it, but the pretzel and mustard are a match made in heaven!
You can also grab a growler to enjoy at home!
This time our main courses were Fish and Chips and the classic Tallgrass burger with sweet potato fries. We are suckers for sweet potato fries! Both were great and beyond filling, yeah for leftovers which in our house is also known as a midnight snack!
