Purple get ready to roll!!! It is almost time for your Kansas State University Wildcats to kick off their football season at Bill Snyder Family Stadium! But first, as any good Wildcat fan knows, it's time for Purple Power Play, the pep rally that kicks off every Kansas State University football season!
This year, Blue Earth Plaza will be hosting Purple Power Play beginning Sept. 2 at 5 pm. Over the years, Purple Power Play has been held on Poyntz Ave, in Manhattan City Park and now it makes its way to Blue Earth Place! Mark your calendars and head down for the fun! This event, which dates back more than 30 years is put on by volunteers and is funded 100% by donations! You read that right, this is another event in Manhattan, KS that wouldn't happen without the amazing volunteers who put this on EVERY SINGLE YEAR!
Purple Power Play features various vendors and businesses handing out water and other goodies. They will have inflatables, music, food trucks, a beer garden, Bates Dance School will perform and so much more! You will know when it is almost time to really kick off things off as soon as you hear The Pride of Wildcat Land, the Kansas State University marching band! The performances will continue with the Classy Cats taking the stage! Then Coach Klieman and players take the stage to share news and expectations for the upcoming season. Of course, Willie the Wildcat will also be there to lead the crowd in his signature cheers!
The schedule of events will be up soon, you can check the Purple Power Play website here, or follow their Facebook page.
