A Hullabaloo is by definition a commotion; a fuss. Every year the community of Leonardville, KS holds a Hullabaloo on their Main Street. The kick-off to the Hullabaloo is on Friday night with the Ranch Rodeo! For those who have not been to a Ranch Rodeo, it should be a must-do if you have the chance!
Saturday is the big day with a car and tractor show kicking off the day. The car show brings in cars of all genres for visitors to look at and enjoy. The tractors show the variety of farm implements and how they have changed over the years.
For the "little's" there are turtle races and a pedal tractor pull competition! Each competitor receives a ribbon and the top "pullers" getting a medal!
In the evening on Saturday, there was a BBQ competition and Ranch Hand Olympics!
For the grown-ups, you can play in the 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Or, if softball is your game, sign your team up for the Hullabaloo Softball Tournament and enjoy all the other festivities that are held a few short blocks away while you have breaks.
The food at the Hullabaloo is always absolutely delicious! Last year I had some of the best nachos I have EVER had! Seriously, so good! The Green Onion Brat was also delicious, but on this hot day, it was refreshing to cool off at the Kona Ice Truck. Growing up in the Midwest, shaved ice is the perfect way to cool off on our hot sunny days.
If you missed out this year on the Hullabaloo follow their Facebook page for more information on next year's schedule!
Regarding the kids' tractor pull, it's p-e-d-a-l, not p-e-d-d-l-e.
Thank you, I obviously missed that!
