Homecoming is here for our Kansas State University Wildcats and that means that this Friday, Oct 28th, 2022 at 5 pm is the Kansas State University Homecoming Parade! Every year the Grand Marshalls of the parade are special K-Staters. The parade floats are a mixture of K-State students, local businesses, civic groups, and a variety of other organizations that join in the fun!
If you are trying to decide where to watch the parade, the short answer is, it depends! If you have some trick-or-treaters that will be coming with you, Aggieville might be a good spot as the businesses in the area will be hosting trick-or-treaters before the parade.
Wanting to REALLY get into the spirit, then Manhattan City Park might be the place for you! Once the parade is over the pep rally will begin at the Larry Norvell Band Shell. The pep rally will include The Pride of Wildcatland pep band, the KSU cheerleaders, Classy Cats and of course, Willie the Wildcat will be there to get you warmed up and ready for Saturday's game. The winners of the various Homecoming events will also be announced at the pep rally!
Are you looking to take in the Homecoming parade and then some dinner and drinks? If so, then either Aggieville or Downtown Manhattan will be excellent options. These two areas have several of our best restaurants in Manhattan, KS, and since the weather is going to be excellent so finding a great restaurant with a patio might be just the thing!
The parade route begins in the Dillards parking lot at the Manhattan Town Center, rolls down Poyntz Ave in Downtown Manhattan, then makes a right 11th street until it arrives at Moro and through Aggieville is goes ending at the bandshell in Manhattan City Park!
Enjoy, the fun, and the parade, and get ready to cheer on THE CATS this Saturday at Bill Snyder Family Stadium!
