The Oktoberfest fun continues in Junction City, KS this weekend (Friday and Saturday) at their annual Junction City Oktoberfest celebration! This event kicks off on Friday at 4:00 pm with the "tapping of the kegs!" After the beer garden opens the party really starts going. On Friday night attendees will enjoy a variety of polka bands, contests, best-dressed contests, yodeling contests, and good fun throughout the evening!

Saturday morning starts off at 8 am! Breakfast is served and the Volksmarch 5k and 13K will begin at 8:30 am! A day of activities, fun, music and crafts will round out the second day of the Junction City Oktoberfest! Enjoy a variety of performances that will be held on the main stage.

If you are looking for some friendly competition, sign up for a variety of events like best dressed, yodeling, cornhole, or Hammerschlagen competitions which are being held on Friday and Saturday! For those not familiar with Hammerschlagen, contestants will attempt to hammer a nail in one swing of a hammer. The contestant who drives the nail in the farthest is the winner. Trust me, this is harder than it sounds, but the winner will receive $100.00. The last competition of the day is at 6 pm, Masskrugtragen is the beer stein carrying contest and the winner will receive $100.00 (adult and youth).

A variety of vendors will also be on hand for a little shopping throughout the day.
