Hamburger and Noodles

I think we all crave different kinds of comfort foods throughout the year. This recipe is one of our go-to's when both my husband and I are needing something quick and easy, but we do not take out or a drive-thru. This noodle dish is the epitome of comfort food and best of all, it is full of flavor and quick!

We normally have the ingredients we need to make this dish, the only thing that requires planning is the hamburger. We either need to pull it out of the deep freeze or run by the grocery store. Either way, it is easy to throw this all together. If you are looking for a true one-pot meal, you can adapt this recipe.

Butter. Noodles. Hamburger.

Instead of cooking the hamburger in a separate pan, cook it in the stockpot and then pull it out and drain the hamburger. In the same stockpot add the water, boil the water then cook the noodles according to the directions below.

Butter makes everything better!

It will take you more time to boil water than to put this entire dish together. I am sure you noticed the fine china that we were dining on that evening. I know, paper plates are terrible to use. Sometimes it makes it just life easier, we needed one less thing to do tonight. It is easy to always have everything look perfect online, but tonight was about making something easy. Life is not perfect and some nights neither are we so we do the best we can.

This also works great as leftovers! Sometimes we garnish with Parmesan cheese if we have some on hand. I also like to add in some green beans or carrots if I want to feel like I am not eating so terribly. In order to save dishes, I add green beans and carrots in with the pasta water. I like mine with a little crunch left so I drop them in about 3-4 minutes before the noodles are finished cooking. It saves a pot and the salty pasta water also gives the veggies a little bit of flavor.

I hope this dish brings you some comfort and a full belly. I know we are trying to be good and eat healthily, but sometimes it is just what we need!

Hamburger Noodle

A perfect meal for those evenings when you need something herty and easy. This meal can please the whole family. We keep it basic, but you could add in Parmesean cheese or veggies to change things up.
