When people move to a new town, finding their go-to local coffee shop is always a must. Here in Manhattan, KS we have several coffee shops, but one thing is for sure, they are all very different and Brothers Coffee is no exception. Located off Anderson Ave. and near the Kansas State University campus, Brothers Coffee opened its doors in 2020.
In addition to serving up great coffee, Italian sodas, food, and amazing pie, Brother's Coffee also serves up an amazing atmosphere that focuses on fostering community. Brother's Coffee was opened by friends, Scott and Diane Clark and Dave and Melissa Romero. They shared on their website that when Sparrow Coffee had to close in 2020 the friends began working to purchase the shop. The name came during a hike at the Konza Prairie, Scott and Dave came up with Brothers Coffee, representing their friendship and love for each other.
Now, if you know me, then you know that coffee is not my go-to drink, but there are many additional options at Brother's Coffee for those of you like me. They offer a variety of loose-leaf teas, MUD/WTR, steamers, Italian Sodas, and more. When I was in last, I grabbed a Lavender Italian soda and it was wonderful. I am a fan of all things Lavender so this was right up my alley.
Brothers Coffee is serving up more than just delicious drinks, Brothers also has a variety of breakfast and lunch items. My lunch was a Monte Cristo sandwich, it was perfect for a quick lunch, which was exactly what I needed. Beyond their regular menu, the majority of our community also loves coming by to satisfy our sweet tooth. At Brother's Coffee, you can grab Thera-pie pies, pie slices, and also, Thera-pie TV dinners!
Brothers Coffee is also home to one of the community's murals. Custom designed by Neal Wollenberg from Uncorked Inspiration, the Community mural offers a one-of-a-kind backdrop to the coffee shop. For those looking to keep up with new specials, events, and more information on their second location you can follow Brothers Coffee on their Instagram or Facebook.
