If you are like me, this week has been crazy! Holiday events seem to pack into my schedule the week before Christmas. It is so much fun but it leaves no time to cook and I knew I needed something quick! While I am not a food blogger or videographer by any means, but I do know my way around a kitchen and decided to share a quick family favorite meal! No shame in the paper plate game to make this even easier with clean-up!
Our family has been eating these Bierock Pockets for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a German community, Bierocks were popular. My mom didn't have the time to make them and so this recipe evolved with the need for a hearty quick dinner that everyone would like, but was FAST! Most of the time my mom would double the recipe since this heats up VERY well and could feed us for a couple of nights to make it even easier.
I am cooking mine up with some of our favorite Flint Hills beef, Pacheco Beef, and our favorite sauerkraut, Hoganville! I didn't know I could be a sauerkraut snob until I had Hoganville Family Farms. The best part is, when I looked up the Sauerkraut online I realized it is made by the family of a girl I grew up with, I love connections.
Without further ado, the recipe is below and I hope you give it a try and let me know what you think!
Bierock Pockets
My family loves Bierocks, but we love the inside of a Bierock even more. We make this a ton because it is delcious and best part, its easy! I grabbed some amazing KS products Pacheco Beef and Hoganville Sauerkraut to mix up a batch this time! Enjoy!
The military road from Fort Leavenworth to Fort Riley is an interesting part of the history of our area. These large limestone markers follow the road through our area. Once you know what the markers look like, you are able to easily find the others around the area. I would never say that I am […]
My grandmother made the best icing so when I wanted to mix up kinda key lime pie cookies I thought, I think I only need three things. Limes, powdered sugar, and green food coloring to make the perfect icing! Boy was I right, this is the perfect amount of tartness and sweet! My grandmother made […]
These are Kinda Key Lime Pie cookies because you can make them even without Key Limes. One thing they are for sure is delicious. If you ask my hubby, these are his favorite cookies I have ever made! A couple of weeks ago my husband was craving Key Lime Pie cookies and there were not […]
