There is something so special every time I walk into a donut shop. Maybe it is the memory from my childhood or the anticipation of that HUGE decision, what donut to get? Either way, the nostalgia of a donut shop is irreplaceable.
Growing up as a little girl I remember going to the Donut Shop on Saturdays with my dad. I would enjoy my donut while he had coffee with the guys. There is still something so special every time I walk into a donut shop. Maybe it is that memory from my childhood or the anticipation of that HUGE decision deciding, what donut do I get? Either way, the nostalgia of a donut shop is irreplaceable.
Here in Manhattan, KS our donut shops offer a variety of styles, tastes, and definitely sugar levels. Of course you can find the classic plain donut which is my husbands favorite or if you are on the more adventorous side they have you covered there as well!
Here are my favorite places in Manhattan, KS to grab donuts for myself, my family, or the office!
Donuts has two locations in Manhattan, KS which make it super easy to run in and grab a dozen, because why stop at one! Here I often gravitate to a classic cinnamon twist or a long john (Chocolate or Maple).
Donuts! I mean is there a more clear name about what you serve? I don't think so!! Donuts tastes and flavors remind me of the donut shop I used to go to with my dad as a child. A variety that makes it almost impossible to choose, there is something for everyone. Especially if you are wanting to combine your favorite cereal and donuts! If you are looking for a little more than a donut, they also have some sausage rolls that are delicious.
Varsity Donuts has brought flavors like the Maple Bacon Donut to Manhattan, KS. It is a Long John Donut with Maple frosting topped with crumbled bacon! The Larry, a PB and J donut plus so many more!
Next up, head to Aggieville for some of the most colorful and creative donuts you will find! If it is a game day, go early or be prepared there will be a line way out the front door! Varsity Donuts has brought flavors like the Maple Bacon Donut. It is a Long John with Maple frosting topped with crumbled bacon! The Larry, a PB and J donut plus so many more! Varsity Donuts offers fun donuts for kids and classic glazed, they have an Opal that is a blueberry donut, it is amazing! Located in one of the older buildings in Aggieville, walking in takes you back in time to your college days. Varsity Donuts also has the Varsity Food Truck that will cover you for your late-night cravings for a hot fresh donut or even something more decadent, mac and cheese grilled cheese sandwiches!

This next one is going to be a little different. While it is not a donut shop in Manhattan, Kansas they have such a following here that their donuts make it to the shelves of the Dara's Fastlane's every morning! If you have never had Tasty Pastry you are missing out! Tasty Pastry has been around since the '60s and is located in Clay Center, Kansas. They are WORLD famous for their nut rolls and no I am NOT kidding. Their nut rolls are shipped all over the world, you can get them plain or filled with cream and either is unbelievable!! While you can order and donuts and pick them up at the carious Dara's locations, the donuts brought daily will offer the classics but make sure you get there VERY early! These donuts go FAST especially the Nut Rolls!!
A&H Farms sell their delicious Apple Cider Donuts that are coated in cinnamon and sugar. The cake donuts are super tender and taste like fall! You can purchase their donuts at the Manhattan, KS Farmer's Market or out at the farm!
Last but not least, A&H Farms in Manhattan, KS! If you have time to go out to the farm, it is a great spot to enjoy the day with family and friends. Throughout the year they have various activities and events, you can also shop their storefront or pick up a produce box! Saturdays at the Manhattan Farmers Market, A&H Farms sell their delicious Apple Cider Donuts that are coated in cinnamon and sugar. The cake donuts are super tender and taste like fall! During the fall you can also grab a box out at the farm!
