ACME LOCAL

I felt like I needed to find a t-shirt for the big game. I really wanted to purchase a shirt from a local business, so I began looking online at various stores and remembered AMCE LOCAL!

As you can imagine, that is for those of you who have been reading this blog at all. I am 150% proud to be from the Midwest and p.s., I am low balling that percentage!! Whether it is my roots from growing up in Western Kansas to living in Manhattan Kansas, I absolutely love living my life here.

When I travel there are many times I am on the receiving end of the classic jokes you hear if you are a Kansan. You know, the classics like, "Do you have a dog named Toto?" or "Is your dad a farmer?" When I tell them about the area I am from people are always so amazed when I share about our community. I share with them the vibe that is Manhattan, KS, and the Flint Hills region.

They have shirts that represent not only being from Kansas and the Midwest but Manhattan, The Konza Prairie, and Tuttle Creek! They also have stickers, face masks, koozies, and drinkware.

If there is a store that helps capture this it is ACME LOCAL located in Aggieville! I had heard of ACME LOCAL, but I had never been to the store. Honestly, I was not 100% sure where or what it was. I knew it was near ACME Gifts, which is another amazing store if you are looking for unique gifts, but I digress.

As many of you know we are only a day away from the Super Bowl and our Kansas City Chiefs are looking to win the second Super Bowl in a row! In honor of this, I felt like I needed to get a t-shirt for the big game. I really wanted to purchase a shirt from a local business, so I began looking online at various stores and remembered AMCE LOCAL!

After pulling up their website, I knew I needed to go into the store. It is the BEST and their designs are so fun I really did not know which one to buy! They have shirts that represent not only being from Kansas and the Midwest but Manhattan, The Konza Prairie, and Tuttle Creek! I mean who doesn't need a t-shirt that says, "Surf Kansas" and has a Buffalo riding a surfboard on it?? Isn't that what everyone thinks about when they think of Kansas?

Don't worry though, ACME LOCAL also has stickers, face masks, koozies, and drinkware. Looking to spice up your laptop? Stop by and choose from dozens of fun stickers or iron-on patches that you can add to your luggage for conversation starters as you travel!

Two fun facts about the owners of ACME LOCAL. First, one of the owners creates all the designs you see in the store. Second, the same owner was also being the RBG Mural here in Manhattan, KS!

The next time I need a gift or have people in town visiting who want a fun t-shirt to commemorate their trip to Manhattan, ACME LOCAL is where I am taking them! Should you need a different size or want a different style you can make a quick trip across the street to their sister store, THREAD'S, and select the style and size to have the image printed on. The young lady I visited with at ACME Local said that Thread's has all their images, even those that have been discontinued!

Feel free to shop their website or send a message to Thread's if you are wanting to check out their fun t-shirts or make your own! Also, two fun facts about one of the owners of ACME LOCAL.
