A place you will frequently hear talked about is the Alma Creamery. Located in Alma, Kansas it is a quick trip from Manhattan, Kansas. The Alma Creamery was originally opened in 1946 and is still family-owned to this day! All of the cheese made at the creamery is made from milk produced at a local Kansas dairy!

I am not sure what is so addicting about the Alma Creamery cheese curds, but when I took a trip to their store one day I was thrilled to see so many flavors.

You can find several products at local stores, or even in several restaurants. If you have some time and are up for a quick trip, take the time to shop at their store! You will find so many more options in the store than you will find in the local stores. I am not sure what is so addicting about the Alma Creamery cheese curds, but when I took a trip to their store one day I was thrilled to see so many flavors. In fact, I think I grabbed one of each. More is more, right??? BTW Buffalo and Garlic are my favs!

The store also offers various block cheeses that make great additions to charcuterie boards, or even as sandwich slices. Besides their traditional Cheddar Cheese, Colby Jack, and Mild Cheddar, you can also grab two other personal favorites, Pepper Jack or Bacon Jack! Bacon plus cheese, yes, please!

It also was a nice surprise to see how many additional products the Alma Creamery carries in their store. Many of the products are other Kansas family owned businesses! Pick of a jar of the ABSOLUTE BEST sauerkraut you will ever eat, a family owned brand called Hoganville!

Pick of a jar of the ABSOLUTE BEST sauerkraut you will ever eat, a family owned brand called Hoganville! Seriously, this kraut will even convert those who normally prefer to knix the kraut on their hotdogs or brats! I can eat it with a fork it is that good. They also carry several products from Grandma Hoerner’s, all of which are delicious! Finally, a treat I grew up with called, Pfeffernusse (Peppernuts). They come in a variety of flavors and texture wise taste similar to a shortbread cookie!

I know not everyone can make the trip so for those of you, you can ALWAYS order online! Trust me, it is some of the most amazing cheese you have ever had! When I was in the store I also learned that you can order gift boxes and have them shipped to family and friends! Who doesn’t want that????

If you want to make an afternoon of your trip to Alma and the Alma Creamery, swing by the Alma Bakery and Sweet Shop and the newly opened, Pacheo Beef! In addition to sweets, the bakery offers breakfast and lunch options. Follow their Facebook page for daily specials!
